The genre we decided to base our magazine advert on is punk. We decided to choose punk as our genre as it was the easy one to base our photo shoot on as our artist already follows the punk subculture. To gain the style needed for the punk genre we are going to use clothing such as fishnet or patterned tights, colourful skirts and ripped t-shirts. We are also going to style the artist’s hair in the traditional girl punk style with a sweep side fringe and lots of layers to create a choppy look.
The punk genre is all centered around the subject of rebellion and what its like to finally lose control and just go wild. To fit in with the genre of punk we are going to have our model in a pose where she is screaming and throwing a chair at the camera. We are doing this as it then shows the wildness that punk artists like to incorrupt into their style and also shows the rebellious side of punk teenagers. The model is also going to be wearing a mixture of punk style clothing which includes red fishnet tights, netted tutu black skirt, arm warmers, slack tie and a band tee with a waistcoat over the top. The slack tie will represent the rebellion teenagers have towards places such as school whilst the rest of the clothing is to draw attention to her.
The location we have choose is based mainly in a classroom setting as with most teenage artists in the punk genre its mostly about their rebellion towards school or family life. We are going to take the pictures in front of the whiteboard and scribble all over it to make it look like she has had a wild rampage in school.
