There are some examples of lyrics matching up with the visuals effectively where the lyrics "Woke up this morning feeling bad" match up with the visuals as the artist (Emma) actually wakes up looking as though she is feeling miserable. The other example is where the lyrics "Even the weather shows my pain" as it is raining in the shot that the artist is standing in, and the artist still looks unhappy. Since Emma portrays herself as a person who is sad about certain aspects of her day, and many of the shots in the music video show her dealing with other people bullying her, or other events bothering her, this means that the music matches up to the visuals very well, since the music portrays a sad mood and is steady paced. The dark colours that can be seen in the bedroom and a college art department also match up well with the mood of the song. There is also a mobile phone in the music video which, since it has a screen (and possibly a lens) is a reference to the notion of looking, which standard music videos usually have. Some zooming in and zooming out is used to focus more/less on the artist's face and her expression, and some close-ups of her are used to show that she is the artist and that the music video narrative focuses on her, as the narrative is about her having a bad day. Some panning shots and a tracking shot have also been used to focus on the artist as she walks through different areas of the college; still looking miserable.
